New York Bananas

New York! I am going there! In a few months time I am travelling to New York, via LA for a few days and even less days in San Francisco on the way back - a whirlwind visit!
It is my first time visiting the US, and aswell as seeing New York I will be fulfilling my lifelong dream of visiting Disneyland. Growing up in New Zealand it was always a big deal if anyone you knew got to go to Disneyland, and I guess I never grew out of wanting to go too! Apart from that I am looking forward to wandering, shopping, and eating my way round. Does anyone have any recommendations for me? Any tips would be gratefully received!

I went to New York during the spring and it was so wonderful! I'd recommend going to Momofuku Milk bar (their cake truffles and compost cookies are delicious), Carnegie Deli, Topshop, Uniqlo, MOMA, the Guggenheim, The Metropolitan, the Doughnut Plant, and sometime in September they're opening America's first Laduree!
ReplyDeleteOoh, sooo many great things - Sephora, National Jeans Company, Urban Outfitters, Barneys, Guggegnheim, MoMa, The Met, Central Park, Gery's Papaya Hot Dogs, Staten Island ferry past the Statue of Liberty, Kiehls, H&M, Zara, Magnolia Cupcakes, SoHo, Trash & Vaudeville, MeatPacking District, cherry cola and eggs over easy with home fries at the diners, New York PIZZA - "white" by the slice. I'm excited about Laudree! Yummo!
ReplyDeleteOh and do visit the Chelsea Market and Soho too!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the tips! Yes, markets and art galleries and pizza will all be getting a look in. I'm getting pretty excited!!
ReplyDeleteOh how awesome! I'm jealous of your stop in San Francisco, although I suppose I'll get to go there soon enough. :) Let me know if you head over Brooklyn-ways!
ReplyDeleteHi Sally, we happen to be staying in Brooklyn! We are there at the end of October, I'll get in touch nearer to then as it'd be great to get some advice, or meet up if you're around. I'm pretty excited about it all, and will probably be the biggest wide eyed nerd when I get there!
ReplyDeletenew york is divine. magnolia bakery cupcakes really are the best thing ever. macaron cafe on madison ave is also a must. yum!
ReplyDeleteHow much time in San Francisco? If you have a bit, I suggest: Tartine Bakery, Bi-Rite Creamery, Little Star Pizza, and Burma Superstar!
ReplyDeleteHave fun hitting up two of the greatest cities in the US!
Hi Stacey, only two days in San Francisco unfortunately. Thanks for the tips though, I'm sure I can squeeze those places in!
