Modern House

Just some more house porn to get excited by, or if you're in the market (and the money), to actually own. This is the Hollander House, built North of Sydney by architect David Hollander, and it's for sale right now!

The house was built in 1969, and designed to look like a giant rock. Hollander adheres to Frank Lloyd Wright's principles of organic architecture, and has said of his design that he chose curves which he thought were correct aesthetically.

So who wants to put in with me to buy it? I don't have money but I promise to do the dishes every night!

Dogs Inside

Dogs Inside is my 'tumblr on the side'. If you like interiors and/or dogs then please take a look. I always think I'll run out of good photos of cute dogs in interesting interiors, but of course I never do. The internet - there's quite a lot on here.

Here are a couple of my recent favourites.

Brooklyn Digs #2

When I saw this photo of artist Johanna Burke on freunde von freunden there was something awfully familiar about it. That view and those windows …

… her apartment is in the very same building that I stayed at in New York! That I blogged about here!

Years ago the building was a pasta factory, and now it's home to a bunch of New York creatives. Honestly, everyone we ran into in the elevator was so cool, good looking and friendly - I felt like such a shy country mouse in the big city!

These photos and more (including Johanna's amazing work-in-progress sculptures) from freunde von freunden.

Plantlife Loft

I so love that plant covered shelf, cleverly used as a room divider in the LA loft of Adam Pogue and Daniel Aston, who are pictured above with their dog Otto, looking like the cutest family ever!

House Love

The Auckland home of Karen Inderbitzen-Waller and Delphine Avril Planqueel is now up on the Selby, and it's possibly the greatest house I've ever seen! I love the clutter, the backyard, the wallpaper, their pet bunny, the miles of Crown Lynn crockery, and the bedding made from vintage underwear - I love it all!

Boho-Home

I've really been feeling the seventies interior vibes lately, so to follow on from my previous post on dreamy interiors, here are some objects I'd like to surround myself with…
{1. Hanging Fern / 2. Crazy Wallhanging / 3. Ottoman / 4. Cane Saucer Chair / 5. Macrame Owl / 6. Log Stool / 7. Navajo Rug / 8. Indoor Palm / 9. Papasan Chair / 10. Shag Pillows}

House Love

Cluttered, bohemian homes filled with plants and rugs and books. If I lived in any of these places I don't think I would ever leave. I'd just stay at home tending to my plants and reading, and maybe rearranging the cushions now and then. And learning to macramé giant wallhangings. Found on Gingerbread House and the Brickhouse.

New old books

I've recently added these secondhand gems to my book collection. The first two came my way last week while I was in Sydney, courtesy of a man in Kings Cross giving away his books in the street… sounds a bit dodgy, but as he told me 'there's not much that's free in this world', and I am not one to pass up free books!

And a couple of plant books, because I need all the help I can get with my indoor plants.
