The Design Kids Thumbs Up

Earlier in the year Australia based The Design Kids spent 10 weeks hitchhiking around New Zealand. As they travelled they asked designers to submit place name signs for them to use on the road. The competition was run via instagram, the perfect place to showcase the amazing type that was received.

An exhibition was also held in Auckland at the end of the trip. More info and a sweet video of the whole thing over here!

NZ trip

I have just returned from a fantastic trip to New Zealand to visit family and friends. It's so good to get back and breathe that crisp NZ air. I also went hard on the NZ treats.

I had a quick night away in Dunedin where I got to meet my friends amazing dog. My phone is full of photos of her, she's just so sweet!

Queenstown

I'm pretty late with posting these, but I went to Queenstown at Easter time – back on the other side of Winter, when it was all beautiful and Autumny.

So… Queenstown is stunning. No matter how many times I visit, and I've spent a lot of time there, it still takes my breath away. It's my favourite place in the world, or maybe a close second to Arrowtown.

We ate at this Boathouse and then fed the ducks by the lake.

It's Super Oscar! My Godson, and Ray's comedy hero.

It's The Lady of the Lake.

The view from where we stayed. Ah-mazing.

I forget what this place was called but we stopped here for some good eats on the way out of town.

Aw, Ray has grown so much since this pic! Not sure what's going on behind the tree (twerking?)

Classic Queenst.

Want to feast your eyes on more New Zealand goodness from Queenstown and surrounds? Here are some blog posts I've enjoyed in the past year:

The Mount

Here are some more pics from our trip to New Zealand back in May, visiting Mr Meet-Cute's family in Mount Maunganui. This year has been pretty intense, travel-wise. We just got back from our third overseas trip of the year, this time to Rarotonga. We've been making up for not being able to go anywhere last year. That's it for us for a while, the rest of the year we'll be hunkering down in Melbourne. I have lots more holiday pics to share on here though, and about three rolls of film from Raro yet to be developed.

Queens Park

While I was at my parents place we took Ray for lots of walks in Queens Park. It was all lovely and Autumny there.

We fed the ducks.

And went to the playground.

Saw some animals …

… and birds!

We went into the hothouse too.

And Ray had a good time on the swings.
