Summer Eats
The first picnic of the season, way back at the start of summer
Two different haloumi and beetroot salads. I ate many variations on this throughout summer.
Bipimbap, from a Korean place near my work.
Canelés, from Dench. I used to get these all the time from Le Moulin Bakery when I lived in Wellington.
On New Years Eve we had this barbequed haloumi in a salad with watermelon and mint. Amazingly simple and delish!
Muesli and yoghurt snack. I made the muesli using Trotsky & Ash's recipe.
Amazing breakfasts from the Collingwood Childrens Farm Cafe.
This was another easy meal typical of my summer eatin' - salad, potatoes and salmon.
Pork scratchings from a new bar near our house. They were pretty gross, and really salty. I remember saying that they tasted like how our old dog's blanket used to smell. The beer was good though.
Golden Plains Festival food from a week or so ago. Calamari, gözleme, and dumplings with salad. I was almost as excited about the food line up as I was about the music line up.

Coachella Dreamin'
I've been getting even more obsessed with instagram lately. And especially over this weekend when I found users who were uploading photos from Coachella Music Festival. This looks like the most sunshiney, celeb filled festival ever, and I'm glad I could live vicariously through some of these pics…

Golden Plains
A few weeks ago I went to my first Golden Plains, which is now in its fifth year and is kind of a sister festival to the longer running Meredith Music Festival. Both festivals have developed their own wacky traditions, including the 'Rangapalooza' tree - a meeting place for red haired friends (see photo below), and 'The Boot' which we quickly learned about after laughing at a guy in the crowd waving his shoe in the air during Joanna Newsom. Mr Meet-Cute, being silly, took his own shoe off and was waving it too until someone told us that this actually means that you're casting your vote for the best song of the festival. You can see a few shoes held aloft in the pic above!
The above photographs I took on my plastic fantastic $15 camera, and those below are from my Golden Half.

Camp Times
{photo above is by Tim Barber}
It was a long weekend for us Melbournians and I went camping! It was my first Australian camping trip and I was rather terrified of snakes and spiders and lizards and things. Although, seeing as I was actually camping with a few thousand other people at this, once I arrived I forgot all about my fear of creepy crawlies, and apart from some giant ants, there were no scary insect encounters at all. Just fun times! And I took a lot of photos too, which will be coming soon (or, as soon as I get the many rolls of film I took developed!)
