Woollies

I finished knitting my scarf!

I made this for a friend but I just can't help breaking it in a little, i.e: wearing it every day, ahem.

… And I have a few new knitting projects on the go. I'm trying to get past basic scarves, which is the only thing I know how to do, so I bought a 'knit knit' kit and am attempting the "chunky snood", difficulty rating: "not bad knitter".

Woolly Wedding!

I must admit, I'm a tad excited about the upcoming Royal Wedding, and apparently the bride shall be wearing wool! Fiona Goble's book 'Knit Your Own Royal Wedding' features patterns for all the royals, corgis, the Archbishop of Canterbury and various guests. These look like a lot of fun. Sadly for me my level of knitting is still stuck at the easy peasy level of scarves only.

WORLD with knits

More knitting inspiration! Kiwi label WORLD are known for their colourful offbeat designs, but I really like the knitted accessories used here with these pieces from their 2011 Autumn/Winter Collection. The woolly glasses, chain-link scarves, bowties and bow brooches are all handmade by the very talented Kute Kiwi.

Small things #1

1. I've taken up knitting again! It's been a few years since I was last in the knitting saddle and it's good to be back. Knitting makes me feel productive while slobbing round watching telly (for instance). I'm planning on getting a lot of knitting done tonight while I watch the Oscars coverage!

2. I have been struggling with takeaway coffees while riding my bike in the mornings - which is pretty ridiculous and now my bag is covered in spilled coffee stains. This has been going on for months until a few weeks ago when Mr Meet-Cute bought me a cup holder to attach to my bike, and now I have this re-usable coffee cup, with a handy sealable lid. My morning coffee problems are now solved. Honestly, I don't know why it took me so long but this has been life changing. In a small way :)
