Times Square

Reasons why blogging is awesome: After I wrote about the Times Square soundtrack a while ago, and the fact that none of the dvd stores round these parts have the film, I heard from Jess who offered to send me copy!

I'm a huge fan of eighties teen films, and I absolutely love seeing anything that's set in eighties New York - it just looks so dirty and exciting! So this film ticked a lot of boxes for me. Plus, I am counting down the days until my own trip to New York, though I realise Times Square looks nothing like this anymore…

Thanks so much Jess for the Times Square hook up!

Amy Poehler Girl Crush

These are quite terrifying and hilarious, and make me really love Amy Poehler. Polaroid test shots taken during the taping of the Upright Citizens Brigade 1998 television series. Seen via Got A Girl Crush, with more info here.

Got a Magazine Crush

Got A Girl Crush has introduced me to so many talented ladies, and I've just discovered a whole bunch more after perusing their brand new magazine. I just ordered a hardcopy which is going to take 3-4 weeks to arrive in my mailbox in Aussie, so I have already read most of it by downloading the free pdf - you can do this too, or order a lovely printed edition right here.

Girl Crush Alert!

I love Rachel Antonoff, especially after reading this interview where she talks about her brother and the pranks they've pulled on each other - hilarious! She has also presented her collections at a faux high school dance in a real school hall with The Like playing, and at a slumber party with models lounging round inside forts and a teepee. She has rad friends that she uses as models, and generally sounds like the most ace person ever. Oh - and her clothes are the cutest!

These photos for Rachel Antonoff's AW11 lookbook were shot on a mini horse farm. The rest can be seen here.

Like!

{Photos from Isaac Likes}

Designer Rachel Antonoff held a homecoming dance party to showcase her Fall 2011 collection during New York Fashion Week. The show was held at a real high school filled with balloons, streamers, spiked punch and music provided by The Like. I am going to see The Like this weekend and I am quite excited!

Tea Party With Elephant

I'm a big fan of both Kirsten Dunst and Botanical Gardens, so I really love these photos of Band Of Outsiders Spring collection, found via So Much to tell You. The photos were shot at the Huntington Botanical Gardens in Pasadena, California. Too cute!

Oh Tennessee!

Tennessee Thomas, drummer for The Like always looks like she's having lots of fun. I also like her hair and her clothes and the fact that she pulls funny faces for the camera, which I also seem to do, although I look nowhere near as cute as she does doing it!

She also has good taste in shoes.

Top photos are by James D. Kelly from here, and the last pic is from here.
